Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Drywall / Plasterer’s Assistant to join our construction team in Worcester. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in the drylining and plastering trades within an indoor, controlled environment. You will work alongside experienced tradespeople, assisting with various tasks to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard. This role offers the security of weekly pay and consistent work, primarily focusing on interior finishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced plasterers and drywall installers with material preparation, including mixing plaster, cutting drywall sheets, and preparing surfaces.
- Help with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and tools around the worksite.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools are properly cared for and stored.
- Perform basic tasks such as taping joints, sanding surfaces, and applying primer under supervision.
- Learn and adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Support the team in achieving project deadlines and quality standards.
- Report any issues or concerns to the site supervisor promptly.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 25kg) and perform repetitive tasks.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of site safety procedures (training will be provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6 months) in a construction or manual labour environment is an advantage.
- Valid UK driving license and access to transport to commute to the site.
- Basic knowledge of drylining or plastering techniques.
- CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) is a plus.
