Job Description

This entry-level position is designed for highly motivated candidates with little to no prior experience in emergency management. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship to develop the critical skills needed to support disaster response operations, coordinate resources, and contribute to community resilience initiatives across New Brunswick and potentially nationally. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in all training programs and workshops on emergency management principles.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis to support risk assessments and emergency planning.
  • Learn to operate various communication systems and tools used during emergency responses.
  • Support logistics and resource allocation during simulated or real emergency events.
  • Contribute to public awareness campaigns and community engagement activities related to preparedness.
  • Document activities and maintain accurate records in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and external partners under supervision.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong desire to learn and contribute to public safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Comfortable working in dynamic and potentially high-stress situations.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., social sciences, public administration, environmental studies).
  • Volunteer experience in community service or emergency response organizations.
  • Fluency in both English and French (a strong asset in New Brunswick).
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
