Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Intensive Care Doctor to join our critical care team in Canary Wharf. This role involves providing expert medical care to critically ill patients in a dynamic and challenging environment. You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients requiring intensive care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert medical care for critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Manage acute medical emergencies and provide life support interventions.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments, and ensure timely escalation of care as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, allied health professionals, and other medical specialists.
- Participate in daily ward rounds, case discussions, and handover processes.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior medical staff.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
Required Skills
- Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practise.
- MRCP/FRCA/EDIC or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Proven experience in intensive care medicine, including management of ventilators, central lines, and complex multi-organ failure.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in high-stakes situations.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a tertiary level critical care unit.
- Demonstrated interest in research or audit activities related to critical care.
- Leadership or teaching experience within a medical setting.
- Proficiency in advanced imaging interpretation relevant to critical care.
