Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Pallet Truck Operator to join our dynamic team in Gloucester. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods within our warehouse and logistics facility using a powered pallet truck. This is a crucial role in maintaining the flow of our supply chain operations and ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of products.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate powered pallet trucks safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve products and materials.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring all goods are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Perform pre-shift checks on equipment and report any faults or defects immediately.
- Accurately complete paperwork and update inventory systems as required.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and operational procedures and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed and contribute to team goals.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating powered pallet trucks (PPT) or similar Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Valid PPT license/certification, or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for paperwork and record-keeping.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a logistics or high-volume warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, as business needs dictate.
