Job Description
We are seeking empathetic and efficient individuals to join our team as Remote Dispatcher / Roadside Assistance Agents. This is a crucial role where you will be the first point of contact for motorists experiencing vehicle breakdowns or other roadside emergencies. Working 100% remotely from your home office in Lethbridge, you will answer inbound calls, accurately assess the situation, dispatch appropriate assistance, and provide reassurance and updates to our valued customers. This role requires excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a commitment to helping others.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer high-volume inbound calls from motorists requesting roadside assistance.
- Accurately gather information regarding the customer's location, vehicle issue, and safety concerns.
- Utilize dispatch software to locate and assign the nearest and most appropriate service provider.
- Effectively communicate estimated arrival times and service details to customers.
- Provide clear, concise, and empathetic communication, offering reassurance to customers in distress.
- Monitor service progress and provide updates to customers as needed.
- Document all interactions and dispatch details accurately in the system.
- Collaborate with service providers to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Handle difficult customer situations with professionalism and resolve issues effectively.
Required Skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong active listening and empathetic abilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer navigation and data entry.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home office setup.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a call center or customer service role.
- Familiarity with the geography of Alberta, particularly the Lethbridge region.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with dispatching software or GPS systems.
