Job Description

Florida Power & Light (FPL) is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Smart Grid Installation Assistants. This is a unique opportunity to kick-start your career with comprehensive paid training, learning vital skills in smart grid technology, system installation, and maintenance. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in a structured paid training program covering smart grid technologies, safety protocols, and installation techniques.
- Assist lead technicians in the installation, testing, and maintenance of smart grid devices, including smart meters, sensors, and communication equipment.
- Learn to interpret technical diagrams and schematics for installation procedures.
- Help troubleshoot and diagnose issues with smart grid components under supervision.
- Ensure all installations comply with FPL's safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and customer interactions.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Provide excellent customer service while working on-site at various residential and commercial locations.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn a skilled trade.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts or previous experience in a hands-on role.
- Technical certifications or vocational training (though not required, it's a plus).
