Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Systems Data Auditor to join our operations team in Bundaberg. In this ongoing role, you will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our critical data systems. Your primary focus will be on performing regular audits, identifying discrepancies, and working collaboratively with various departments to implement corrective actions and improve data governance processes. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of data management principles, and the ability to work independently to safeguard information accuracy across our platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc audits of data systems and databases to verify accuracy and integrity.
  • Identify, investigate, and document data discrepancies, errors, and inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with IT, compliance, and business units to understand data flows and system logic.
  • Develop and implement audit procedures and criteria for data validation.
  • Recommend and monitor the implementation of corrective actions and system enhancements.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about best practices in data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of data quality standards and policies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in data auditing, data analysis, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools and database query languages (e.g., SQL).
  • Understanding of data governance principles and data quality frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial services data and regulatory requirements (e.g., APRA, ASIC).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CDMP).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
