Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated University Lecturer to join our esteemed faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality teaching, contributing to curriculum development, conducting impactful research, and providing academic support to students. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the minds of future professionals and contribute to the academic excellence of Staffordshire University.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
- Develop and update course materials, ensuring they are current, relevant, and engaging.
- Assess student performance through a variety of methods, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Supervise student projects, dissertations, and theses as appropriate.
- Engage in research and scholarly activities, including publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences.
- Contribute to the administrative duties of the department, including admissions, course committees, and student recruitment.
- Participate in the wider university community and initiatives.
- Mentor and provide academic advice and support to students.
Required Skills
- A PhD or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrable experience of teaching at university level.
- Strong subject matter expertise and an active research profile.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven organizational and time management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience with blended learning and online teaching methodologies.
- A track record of successful grant applications or externally funded research projects.
- Experience in curriculum design and program validation.
