Job Description
Join StarTrack as a casual Dispatch Runner in Newcastle, supporting our busy logistics operations. This role is perfect for individuals looking for flexible hours within a day roster, providing crucial support to our dispatch team and ensuring the timely and efficient movement of goods. You will assist with loading, unloading, sorting, and dispatching parcels, contributing to our commitment to reliable delivery. No prior experience in logistics? No problem! We provide comprehensive training for enthusiastic and reliable individuals ready to learn and grow within the freight industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of parcels and freight onto delivery vehicles and into the depot.
- Verify outgoing and incoming shipments against manifests to ensure accuracy.
- Sort and stage parcels for efficient dispatch and routing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the dispatch area.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, drivers, and team members.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures diligently.
- Perform general ad-hoc duties as required to support logistics operations.
Required Skills
- Valid Australian Driver's License (Car – C class)
- Ability to lift and move heavy items safely (up to 25kg)
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of local Newcastle and surrounding areas
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (not essential, but a plus)
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as part of a casual day roster
