Job Description
We are seeking reliable and dedicated Freight Sorters to join our night shift team in Ballarat. This is an ongoing, full-time opportunity offering high penalty rates for night work. As a Freight Sorter, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of parcels and freight through our distribution centre, ensuring timely delivery to our customers. This fast-paced environment requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort and scan various types of freight and parcels according to their destination.
- Load and unload freight from trucks and containers, both manually and using equipment where applicable.
- Operate scanning equipment to track inbound and outbound parcels.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations and meet daily targets.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy items repeatedly (up to 20kg).
- Strong attention to detail for accurate sorting and scanning.
- Reliability and punctuality, particularly for night shift schedules.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manual handling role.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
- Basic understanding of freight and logistics operations.
