Job Description
Join LabCorp as a Medical Sample Courier and play a vital role in our mission to improve health. You will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of medical samples, supplies, and reports between our facilities, client sites, and laboratories. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, adherence to strict safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. A company vehicle will be provided for all work-related duties. We are looking for reliable individuals with a strong work ethic and a clean driving record. Full training on medical sample handling and transportation procedures will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport medical samples, specimens, and supplies between designated locations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA).
- Maintain accurate records of pickups, deliveries, and vehicle mileage.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues.
- Ensure the integrity and security of all transported materials.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, laboratory staff, and client personnel.
- Manage and prioritize daily routes to ensure timely delivery.
- Clean and maintain the company vehicle as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Clean driving record (mandatory)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for route navigation and record-keeping
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a courier or delivery role
- Knowledge of medical terminology or healthcare logistics
- Familiarity with the Rock Hill and surrounding areas
- Ability to handle temperature-sensitive materials
