Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Travel Operations Manager to lead our corporate travel operations in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. This high-impact role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing corporate travel programs, optimizing operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional service to high-value corporate clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of travel operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, driving supplier negotiations, and leading a dedicated team to deliver superior travel solutions within the corporate sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily corporate travel operations, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to service level agreements.
- Develop, implement, and enforce corporate travel policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of corporate travel consultants, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Negotiate with airlines, hotels, car rental companies, and other travel vendors to secure favorable rates and service agreements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and travel spend, providing regular reports and strategic recommendations to senior management and clients.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and corporate governance.
- Act as a primary point of contact for key corporate clients, building strong relationships and understanding their evolving travel needs.
- Identify and implement innovative travel technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency and client experience.
- Manage crisis response and irregular operations, ensuring traveler safety and minimal disruption.
- Oversee budget management for the travel operations department and contribute to client travel budget planning.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate travel management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate travel industry best practices, GDS systems (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport), and online booking tools.
- Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts effectively.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and client relations abilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CTA, GTP).
- Experience with data analytics and reporting tools specific to travel management.
- Familiarity with the Kalgoorlie-Boulder corporate landscape, particularly in the mining or resources sector.
