Job Description
We are seeking a highly meticulous and analytical Remote Spreadsheet Auditor to join our Accuracy & Finance team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within Australia. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of data integrity and accuracy across various financial spreadsheets and reports. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in identifying discrepancies, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and supporting robust financial reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and detailed audits of financial spreadsheets to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.
- Identify and document any anomalies, errors, or discrepancies within financial data sets.
- Collaborate with various finance and operational teams to investigate audit findings and facilitate timely resolutions.
- Develop and implement best practices for spreadsheet management and data quality control.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports, detailing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Ensure all audited documents comply with relevant financial regulations and internal governance standards.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting methodologies.
- Provide support during internal and external audits as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or data analysis role with significant spreadsheet use.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data validation techniques.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and stakeholder collaboration.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- High degree of integrity and professional skepticism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related quantitative field.
- Previous experience in internal audit, external audit, or quality assurance within a financial institution.
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA.
