Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the world while building a rewarding career? Sunrun is seeking highly motivated Renewable Energy Sales Consultants to join our team in Rockville, Maryland. In this role, you will be on the front lines of the clean energy revolution, helping homeowners transition to solar power. You will work directly with potential customers, educate them on the benefits of solar energy, design customized systems, and guide them through the sales process. This position offers a competitive base salary plus uncapped commission potential, rewarding your hard work and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new sales leads through various prospecting activities, including door-to-door, referrals, and community events.
  • Conduct in-home or virtual consultations with potential customers to assess their energy needs and educate them on solar solutions.
  • Design personalized solar energy systems using proprietary tools and software.
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals that highlight cost savings and environmental benefits.
  • Guide customers through the entire sales process, from initial contact to contract signing and installation scheduling.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and provide exceptional follow-up service.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, products, and competitive offerings.

Required Skills

  • Proven track record in sales or customer service, with a strong drive to succeed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and effectively with a diverse range of customers.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (CRM experience a plus).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in direct sales, B2C sales, or in-home sales.
  • Knowledge of the solar energy industry or renewable technologies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet customer needs.
