Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart your career in the electrical trade but have no prior experience? Gympie Electrical Contractors is offering an exciting entry-level opportunity for a dedicated and eager Sparkie’s Helper. This role is perfect for someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a passion for hands-on work in a dynamic construction environment. You will work closely with qualified electricians, providing essential support on various projects across Gympie and its surrounds, learning the ropes from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified electricians with various tasks on construction sites and service calls.
- Carry and transport tools, equipment, and materials safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tidying up job sites.
- Learn and adhere to all safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform basic manual labour tasks as directed.
- Observe and learn from experienced electricians to understand electrical processes.
- Support the team in setting up and packing down equipment.
Required Skills
- No prior electrical experience required – full training will be provided.
- Australian White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- Strong willingness to learn and take direction.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Australian Driver's License (advantageous for site travel).
- A positive attitude and a proactive approach to work.
- Interest in pursuing a long-term career in the electrical trade.
