Job Description
Join the Hervey Bay Boat Club Marina team as a Part-time Marina Support Staff member. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, have a proactive attitude, and are keen to contribute to the smooth operation of our busy marina. You will be an integral part of our day roster, assisting boaters, maintaining the marina’s pristine condition, and supporting various operational needs. No prior marina experience is required; we provide comprehensive training for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist boat owners with mooring, docking, and general inquiries.
- Perform routine cleanliness and maintenance tasks on pontoons, docks, and public areas.
- Monitor marina facilities, report any damage or issues promptly, and assist with minor repairs.
- Support fuel dock operations, including guiding vessels and processing transactions.
- Assist with general groundskeeping and upkeep of marina surrounds.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service to all marina patrons.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Good physical stamina, capable of lifting up to 20kg and performing tasks requiring bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a helpful attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
- Current legal right to work in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience in a customer service role.
- Familiarity with marine environments or boating (recreational or professional).
- Local knowledge of Hervey Bay waterways and services.
