JPMorgan Chase & Co. is offering an exciting entry-level opportunity for a Mortgage Loan Processor Assistant – Real Estate Finance Trainee to join our team in Oakland, CA. This role is designed for individuals with no prior experience in the mortgage industry, providing comprehensive training and development to build a strong foundation for a successful career. You will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in all stages of the mortgage loan process, from application submission to closing. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior Loan Processors in collecting, organizing, and verifying all required documentation for mortgage loan applications, including income statements, asset verifications, and credit reports.
- Maintain accurate and complete loan files, both physical and electronic, ensuring all data is up-to-date and accessible.
- Under supervision, communicate effectively with applicants to request additional information or documentation and provide regular status updates.
- Learn to review loan applications for compliance with company policies, federal regulations, and state-specific guidelines.
- Prepare initial loan disclosures, commitment letters, and other relevant documents under the guidance of a Loan Processor.
- Collaborate with Loan Officers, Underwriters, and the Closing Department to ensure a smooth and efficient loan process for all parties.
- Actively participate in ongoing training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs to expand knowledge of mortgage products, industry trends, and procedural updates.
- Perform various administrative tasks to support the mortgage processing team, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated strong desire to learn and grow within the real estate and financial services industry.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- No prior experience in mortgage processing or real estate finance is required; comprehensive training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with basic financial terminology or concepts.
- Previous experience in a customer service or administrative support role.
- Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin) are a plus.
