Job Description
We are seeking a strong and reliable Pub Cellar Keg Mover to join our team in Keswick. This physically demanding role involves the safe and efficient movement of heavy kegs and other cellar stock within our underground storage areas. You will be responsible for ensuring the cellar is organized, clean, and fully stocked, playing a crucial part in the smooth operation of our busy pub. This is an on-site position requiring manual labour, attention to safety, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely move, lift, and stack heavy beer kegs and other beverage containers (up to 70kg) from delivery to cellar storage.
- Organize and maintain the cleanliness of the cellar and storage areas.
- Rotate stock to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Assist with inventory counts and reporting.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during the handling and movement of cellar items.
- Support bar staff by ensuring adequate stock levels are available and accessible.
- Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cellar equipment as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 70kg) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong understanding of safe lifting techniques.
- Good physical stamina and endurance.
- Ability to work effectively in a confined, underground environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manual labour or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with pub cellar operations or similar beverage handling.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety standards in a workplace.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
