Job Description
Join the Vinyl Reverie team as a Part-Time Shop Assistant! This is an entry-level opportunity perfect for passionate music lovers who are eager to learn the ins and outs of a record shop. We’re looking for someone with a genuine enthusiasm for vinyl and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. You’ll assist with daily operations, help customers discover their next favorite album, and contribute to the welcoming vibe of our store. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with a friendly and knowledgeable approach, helping them locate records and discover new artists.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our POS system, handling cash and card payments.
- Organize, clean, and shelve new and used vinyl records, ensuring the shop floor is tidy and appealing.
- Assist with inventory tasks, including receiving new shipments, pricing items, and preparing records for display.
- Provide basic information on record care, turntables, and shop events.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, listening stations, and common areas.
- Support the senior staff with various ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- A genuine passion for music and vinyl records across various genres.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer literacy for POS system operation (training provided).
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and some evenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in customer service or retail is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with different music genres and artists.
- Knowledge of basic record care and audio equipment.
