Job Description
Australia Post is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as an Entry Level Dispatch Runner in our busy Docklands warehouse. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start a career in logistics with no prior experience required. We provide comprehensive training to ensure you have the skills and knowledge to succeed. As a Dispatch Runner, you will be a key player in our warehouse operations, responsible for the efficient movement and preparation of goods for dispatch, ensuring packages reach their destinations swiftly. This is an on-site role, working directly within our dynamic warehouse environment in Docklands.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
- Sorting and organizing packages and parcels within the warehouse.
- Locating and retrieving specific items for dispatch according to manifest lists.
- Preparing packages for dispatch, including labelling and scanning.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Operating warehouse equipment (e.g., trolleys, pallet jacks) safely after training.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and move packages up to 20kg.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and counts.
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid Australian driver's license (desirable but not essential).
- Previous experience in a physical role or warehouse setting (beneficial but not required).
- Forklift licence (advantageous, but training can be provided for suitable candidates).
